Traveling

Hey Family, it's Richie and Erin. Some of you may know our upcoming plans, but most probably do not. Here it is:

Richie has been offered a position as an Air Traffic Controller in California. However the job will not start until 2010, or at least we are hoping so. They have not given us a start date yet, but we have to go to Oklahoma City for 3 months for training, and the entering classes for training are full until 2010. So....Since we have both been working hard this last year, and saving money by living with Richie's parents in New York, we thought that if we wanted to travel, now would be the best time, while we've got money and no serious job, or kids, tying us down yet. So that's just what we are doing.

We leave tomorrow, Sunday September 27th (Happy Birthday Riz-Dawg!) We've already moved all our stuff out to California, so we are just making our way around the world, the long way, from New York to California. We will be gone for about 3 1/2 months! Here's the itinerary:

Sept.27: Fly to Ireland

Oct. 4: Venice, Italy

Oct. 8: Rome, Italy

Oct. 12: Bari/Brindisi, Italy (Here we are staying with one of my best friends from BYU-Hawaii, Federica. She is from Treviso Italy (just north of Venice) and living down in the South playing volleyball)

Oct. 24-27: Florence/Pisa/Portofino (A trip with Federica while we are staying with her)

Oct. 29: Slovenia! (to go visit Emillie and see her play volleyball!!)

Nov. 2: Split/Dubrovnik, Croatia (We don't have tickets booked to Croatia and Greece yet, so dates aren't exact)

Nov. 5: Greece (as many islands as we can get to! And we will visit with some of Richie's family that lives there. Neither of us have ever met them before)

Nov. 17: Bali, Indonesia (great surf spot!)

Nov. 29: Australia (We fly into Brisbane and renting a car. We are driving down the Gold Coast and camping along the way, hitting as many good surf spots as we can, until we reach Sydney)

Dec. 11: Hawaii!! (we are ending the travels with a month in Hawaii. We will experience our first tropical Christmas, just the two of us..... Unless any family wants to meet us out there! ;))

Jan. 12: Fly to LAX

So that will be our lives for the next couple months. We are only bringing backpacks too. It should be quite the experience. We are very excited to travel together and see the world! Even though I never thought I'd sell out and start one, I have created a blog in the hopes of documented the trip and to keep family and friends updated on our travels. I will do my best to keep it updated, but no promises. We aren't bringing a computer, so it's just going to be internet cafes. The blog is repsillos.blogspot.com.
